Part Time Parish Secretary

10 hours per week

Permanent Contract

Working as part of a small team, you will carry out a range of administrative duties within the parish.

This is a part time position with the hours stipulated below:

Monday 9.00am–2.00pm (5hrs) 

Friday 9.00am–2.00pm (5hrs)

Role:

All administrative duties that may be required in the day to day running of the office and parish activities.

Main Tasks and Duties:

You will be responsible for all administrative duties within the Parish.Keeping of registers, both manual and computerised. Maintaining of all computerised Parish Accounts, liaising with banks, accountants and any other financial bodies as necessary.Liaising with the Department of Education and Education Authority as and when required. Paying of all invoices, lodging of all monies, compilation of the parish bulletin, maintaining parish diaries, typing of letters, minutes and reports as and when required.

Essential Criteria:

Proficiency in MS Office, ability to demonstrate good communication and organisation skills, knowledge of database systems, high degree of confidentiality, knowledge of computerised accounting systems, minimum of 5 GCSE's (including Mathematics and English to Grade C) or equivalent, worked in office environment.

Applicants should note that the above criteria are the minimum requirements only and may be enhanced at the discretion of the short-listing panel.

Desirable Criteria:

Knowledge of Lifetime Parish Management Systems, knowledge of Gift Aid, third level qualification.
