This week Trócaire launch their annual Lent campaign, reaching out across Ireland to raise much needed funds to support the world's poorest people. The campaign highlights the plight of people living in areas hit by natural disasters and other humanitarian crises.
With your support, Trócaire aims to deliver humanitarian aid to up to one million people this year. Trócaire staff and volunteers will visit schools and parishes across Ireland to bring stories of the people we support - their dignity, bravery and resilience - to life.
Miriam and Maria from Honduras, pictured on this year's Trócaire box, are just one family who face flooding from storms and rising sea levels. Trócaire's project in their village provides for safe evacuation and supporting the community's campaign for access to better homes.
Find out more about the Lent campaign and how to get involved. We are also responding to humanitarian crises around the world, including in South Sudan where the UN last week declared a famine. Trócaire is providing emergency food and water to people there and donations to this year's Lenten campaign will help projects aimed at tackling hunger across the region.
