On June 9, 1982, at the invitation of the Bishop of Derry, Most Reverend Edward Daly, the Order of Discalced Carmelites established a new priory at St Joseph's Termonbacca, on the outskirts of Derry City. At a special Mass in the Long Tower Church, on the feast of St Columba, the Bishop and Priests welcomed the new religious community to the diocese. The priests are available for confession each day. They also conduct days of prayer and recollection for groups of priests, sisters and laity from all over the diocese.

Prior: Rev Stephen Quinn, OCD
