This pilgrimage to Lough Derg is an opportunity to give thanks to God for having the health, the time, and the freedom to do the pilgrimage. It's a moment to remember one's loved ones at home and anyone who particularly asked for prayers, and also to say a prayer for fellow pilgrims.
Participating in the Three Day Pilgrimage, pilgrims agrees to undertake the pilgrimage programme of prayer and quiet reflection in bare feet, keeping Vigil and maintaining the Fast.
The Diocese of Derry Three Day Pilgrimage starts on Friday, 25th and concludes on Sunday, the 27th July 2025.
Bus will depart after 10:00am Mass in St Eugene's Cathedral, Friday 25th July will travel via Lifford and Ballybofey.
Lough Derg is a sacred place apart to bring burdens and leave them behind, to seek healing for wounds and to ask for them to be healed.
