You are invited to walk with Jesus this Holy Week

Thumb

Holy Week invites us to take part — not just to look on.

In his message, Bishop Donal McKeown speaks honestly about that reality — and offers a simple but challenging invitation.

We have a choice.

Do we avoid the difficult realities of life — or are we prepared to walk with Jesus through them?

Holy Week does not turn away from suffering.
It brings us face to face with it.

Betrayal.
Cruelty.
Fear.
Abandonment.

And yet — it is only by facing these realities with Christ that we come to the joy of the Resurrection.

Bishop Donal invites us not to be afraid of this journey.

From:

  • Holy Thursday — the gift of the Eucharist
  • Good Friday — the reality of the Cross
  • Holy Saturday — the silence and waiting
  • The Easter Vigil — the light breaking into darkness

This is something not just to look on.

It is something we are invited to enter.

There are also opportunities across our parishes for the Sacrament of Confession — a chance to pause, reflect, and begin again.

"Face the reality of evil with Jesus by your side — and together we will be victorious."

If it's been a while, you'd be very welcome in your local parish this Holy Week.
