RENEWAL - Parish Leader Mentoring with Derry Diocesan Youth

In June 2021 Derry Diocesan Youth Ministry is hosting RENEWAL, a six week mentoring programme for parish and volunteer leaders working with young people (13-18 year olds) in the Diocese of Derry. 

Strategically plan the next steps in your parish 

The six online sessions will provide an opportunity to come together in prayer and support, celebrate and share best practice and strategically plan the next steps in your parish for Youth Ministry.

The mentoring programme will explore:

• The what and why of Youth Ministry?;
• Shift from Catechetical to Accompaniment - what this means;
• Different leadership and ministry approaches (intentionally engaging young people from a range of backgrounds);
• Animating volunteer Parish Teams;
• Engaging young people online - safeguarding support;
• Models for employing a Parish Pastoral leader for Youth Ministry - first hand testimonies;
• Explore forming a Parish Youth Council;
• Diocesan Youth Ministry initiatives and training; and
  
• Planning the way forward.
  
  

What is required? 

Some pre-reading and videos to view.
Commitment to one-to-one work to develop your plans for youth ministry.
Supporting your peers - invitation to 'buddy up' with another participant.

Dates, times and registration 

RENEWAL will begin on Thursday, 3^rd June at 7:15pm-8:15pm and continue each Thursday over six weeks. It will be delivered via Zoom.
