Termonbacca Rosary Group - 30 Years - Celebration Mass - Bishop Donal McKeown

On Tuesday 2nd May members of the Rosary Group that has been meeting every month in Termonbacca since the Marian Year of 1987 gathered to have a celebration of Mass to mark the milestone.

They were the first to raise money to build what is now 'the big room' used regularly by groups like Cursillo and COR. Pat and Brigid Hume have been at the head of this group since its beginning in the Marian Year of 1987.

Bishop Donal reflected that the "focus is on the mysteries of Christ, from the Bible... while looking at the life of Jesus through the eyes of the one who loved him most."

Most of it from St Luke's Gospel: 'Hail full of grace, the Lord is with thee' (Gabriel - Lk 1:28)

'Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb' (Elizabeth - Lk 1:42)

Bishop Donal also focused on the power of prayer: "It is a meditation on the life of Jesus from the Bible using mainly words taken from the Bible. No wonder it is so powerful! And you have no idea how much good your faithful praying has done."

"We pray it trusting in Jesus' words that 'I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never be hungry; he who believes in me will never thirst. What a wonderful prayer to pray – and a wonderful; place to be praying it."

Let us give thanks for and pray God's continued blessing and reward on all who have been faithful to this Rosary Group over the past 30 years.
